Let me begin by saying that the fact that I know how to turn on my laptop still makes me proud. I don't know where to post this so I am trying here. I have difficulty watching news clips, video clips, etc. on my laptop. My husband says it is because it is not downloading fast enough. When I try to watch them it stops to catch up. This is annoying and I want to know if their is a way to fix it.

Get faster internet
-
yeah or use DAP
-
What is the speed of your internet connection? You have windows? Do you use Internet explorer?
-
Can you let us know exactly what type of network you have at home? If you could post the make and model of the router, the computers accessing the network, and the wi-fi cards they use, that would help us diagnose the problem.

dialup just doesn't just cut it anymore................
especially with youtube -
I have internet explorer and use DSL but the slowest dial up. I just woke my husband up and he agreed to call and have it upgraded next month if I would let him sleep. Thank you to all of you. I told you I am helpless when it comes to these things.
-
i still used dialup until 3 months ago lol

I feel like plugging my phone cord in just to remind myself how slow Dial-up was.
-

-
He'll tell you anything to go back to sleep. Thats how we are.
"Yeah yea, whatever, I'll upgrade it next month, next week, next year, whatever. Just let me go back to sleep." -

Yup, and forget about browsing while downloading too.
-
Man, I wish the cable companies and wireless companies get on the ball.
People in japan get twice the bandwidth at half the price we do -
-
I remember the days of dial up. 20 minutes to download 5 mb.
-
I'm on dial-up right now.. It's all my house can get.. LOL Stupid rural area..
It's hard being at work in the studio with massive gigabit connections that download at 4MBPS at times then coming home to a 2KBPS connection..
Takes me 6 hours to download iTunes when they roll out an update...
Feel my pain..
But sometime I'm treated to a 4KBPS speed... lmao -
cheers ... -
I just got rid of my dial-up and now use my cell phone to hook to the internet. I went from 24 kb/s to nearly 300 kb/s. I axed my home phone altogether along with my old cellular and dial up bill and break about even.
It adds $25/month to my cell bill. Works great but you have to be able to get the EVDO data signal in your area. I use alltel.
