Long story short. My HDD died and I've receive the warranty replacement. Apparently the sticker with the product key is no longer with my windows 7 disk so I need to obtain a replacement.

I've looked on windows website and it looks like I am going to have to call but cannot find any additional info like a phone number?

Seems as if you need to buy a new Windows license.

You can get replacement install discs for a reasonable fee from MS or the manufacturer of your computer, but there is no such thing as a replacement license key.
Similar to a 100USD bill - in case you lose it, nobody will replace it either.

Call your laptop manufacturer to obtain recovery discs. It may cost you, but it will be cheaper than buying a new Windows license and it will activate just fine.

If you want a clean install, use the recovery discs, backup the license with ABR, do your clean install, then use ABR again to restore the license.
