Just downloaded a .dmg file on my Windows XP PC. If it matters: its the iPhone SDK App Development Program. I cant open it to install it, can anyone help?

Thats a file extension that I think is only for Mac

Anyway, is there anyway to open it in Windows? Like Converting or something? Thanks -
None that I know of

did you mount the file?

Even if you can mount the DMG file, you can't use its contents. It is mac only software. Save your time and give up. Then look for a windows version of the software.

There is no point in you trying to expand a DMG image, unless you're planning to burn it onto a CD/DVD to use on a Mac. However, if you want to do that, you should simply copy over the entire DMG file onto the disc, as OS X can mount images with a double click.
If you're wondering why the DMG and all its contents will not work with Windows, it's because it's compiled for a different OS and Kernel. The OS X Kernel is significantly different from the Windows NT Kernel, and so it will not work. -

This should explain everything.

Yeah, .DMG is for Mac OS X, and the iPhone SDK is Mac OS X Leopard-only. Even I can't use it (on Tiger)
