I made a thread like this a while ago, but now that I can't search I have no idea where it is.
I remember someone posting me a wikipedia (?) link about how to integrate Community Codec Pack with CoreAVC and this combination of codecs allowed me to play .mkv files and many other type of files via Media Player Classic. Can anyone send me the link again please?
Thanks

I believe VLC will play .mkv files as well as downloading the L-Lite codec full for other players.

VLC has always been a painful experience for me...
I just recently reinstalled my OS and erased everything on my computer, so... MPC + CCC + CoreAVC, I just need the configurations for the two codec packs. -
its the newest divx make sure you download the audio ac3 codec as well.
-
I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, it plays everything ranging from REAL Media, quicktime, mkv, flv, u name it

Is this it:
How to use CoreAVC instead of FFDShow
Edit: Whilst on the subject of CCCP (please pardon me for hijacking your thread for a moment), can anyone tell me if and more importantly how I can encode videos using Xvid and MP3 (Lame) whilst still having CCCP installed an un-interfered with?
Thanks -
Yes, try to get the one with Media Player Classic. MPC is the best video player, imo. It plays EVERY video format I know - .mkv, .mp4, .m4v, .wmv, etc.
You can even tweak the playback output and choose a different render in a few clicks. -
I use Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack. Never had any problems playing any kind of video.
-
Media Player Classic is what K-Lite Mega Codec Pack uses d00d.

Thank you so much! This is just what I was looking for! -
Your most welcome

What's your point?
-
Use KM Player. Plays everything and has all the codecs you need. Plays .mkv for sure as well.
-
http://shark007.net/index.html I use Vista Codec Pack and use WMP to play mkv's. It was originally started on mfsn.org, which is where I first found it, seems the author has a site dedicated to just that now.

Get a MKV splitter, then use your usual media player to play the video. .MKV is a container, it can contain many different format. E.g. H.264
-
I use K-Lite Codec and MPC.... no problems ever.
-
No it isn't. I've seen K-Lite Codec Packs with BS.Player and even Real Player.
-

and your point is.....
E.g. FFMPEG is used in VLC player and many other players.
Klite mega codec is used in media player classic and many other players. -
lol, I use Media Player Classic HC by itself with its internal <s>codecs</s> filters..
-
my point is you recommended Media Player Classic instead of K-Lite
-
WRONG! stop spreading BS!! maybe the users have installed Real Player seperately, that's their fault. K-Lite Mega Codec Pack ONLY comes bundled with media player classic!
-
What would I possibly want to spread BS? Why, it's my most hated player.

OMG!!!!!! OMG !!!!! dude! K-Lite Mega Codec Pack SUPPORTS those codecs! but does not in any way have REAL PLAYER or any other player bundled other than media player classic! Go figure
