I listen to internet radio once in a while and I am trying to play a file in *.PLS format. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

Sure, you can use iTunes (my pref), Songbird (also a decent choice), Foobar, or even VLC. I can confirm that WMP does not offer .pls support. Cheers.

I was using Winamp for this purpose, but it would be nice not to have to use another app for this. Isn't there a good plugin for WMP to get this capability? -
I got an HTC Pure smart phone about two months ago, and got this working.
Now, however, I recently fell victim to a bout of insanity and did a factory reset. (I sought only to make some room because the device wasn't letting me stream podcasts. If I'd known the trouble I was in for I could have lived without podcasts.)
And I can't install this widget. The setup won't run, but gives an error message to the effect that it isn't a valid Pocket PC application--although the OS is Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. Not only can I not install it, but I can't remember how I got it working the first time. It wasn't easy then, either. I miss Shoutcast so freaking much and have struggled for two days now to be able to use it again.
I'm reduced to registering for every technical messageboard I can find hoping someone can answer this. -
UPDATE: I still can't get OpenPlsInWmp working, but I did find a way to use Shoutcast with John Galloway's wonderful GSPlayer app. All I have to do "save" rather than "download" the .pls file that Shoutcast offers when I select a station. Then from GSPlayer I can open the .pls and listen to the station.
Obviously, it's essential to rename the playlist files since the default names don't indicate the station or type of music, and in fact are just about all "tunein-station.pls".
You can download it here:
