How can I protect my folders with a password? I don't want to make compressed folder, to archive it or something like that. I simply want a normal folder and when you double click it, to require the password. Thanks.

This from Microsoft: "There is no option to add password for folders in Windows, it is by design. You may use your favorite search engine to search for any third party software which accomplishes your request."

You can password protect your folders and files in Windows 8 and 8.1 with the use of built-in feature of locking the folders, you can check here the method: How to Encrypt Files and Folders in Windows 8.1 Pro Using EFS to manually protect the folders. Also some off the shelf free software are available to protect your Windows 8.1 folders in just 1 click, see here about trucrpyt and mylockbox: Password Protect Folders in Windows 8.1 with My LockBox [How To]
