I know that this might be a noobish question but please give me the answer since I've never thought of doing it before.. :)

How to remove un-wanted text from images cause I get really annoyed when I see those text in my wallpapers?

Which program should I use and how to do it?

    Thanks! ;)

    Images are flat.
You can't just peel off the text like it's another layer, and have image below it. The text is on the same level as the rest of the image.

Using a program like photoshop, you can re-create what would be on the image where the text is, and depending on the rest of the image, this may be easy or it may be impossible.

You can download Gimp for free and use the cloning stamp to cover up the writing.

As noted above, you have to cover it up. It was applied as a layer when it was originally created and you have to add a new layer to eliminate it.

Post up your wallpaper on a site like imageshack.us and link it here. I think some of us might be able to remove it.

Then how come I used to see people on a site linking images with Made by: Anchor or www.blah.com and then someone comes and reposts it without that text and they even change the resolution without getting the image effected? :(

Like 5 minutes in photoshop cs2 with the clone stamp tool. I'd upgrade but it costs too much and I finally understand cs2 for the most part.

That's exactly what I would have done too.

Sometimes when I get wallpapers for personal use, they have all this text on it and I understand that the original creators need to protect their work but I only use the pics for desktop wallpapers anyways. So I just use the handy Photoshop clone stamp tool to get rid of it. It's quick and painless.

Its really really easy. I think its best to rapidly click rather than click and hold because its copying from the layer before you covered it up...so you might get unwanted things being cloned.

Just hold the alt key click on the area you want to clone and while still holding it move the mouse the distance away from it you want the clone to take place at. Then let go of the alt button and it locks in that distance and angle. Then rapidly click on the thing you want to clone and you will slowly start to see the clone area being copied to the pointer area.

This was actually a very easy image to do, others will be harder. So if you want to practice try it on this one.

How big do you make the clone stamp?
What I do is hold down alt, hold down left mouse button and and move the mouse over the big text in the middle of the pic, then click like crazy to cover?
If so that works fine for dark areas but once I get to the lighter areas it become obvious whats been done.
Think i'll have to look at some tuts with pictures, I can't follow text instructions that well lol..

No your doing it right, it does get harder if there is a lot of changing colors under neath it. You have to make sure to continually take it from some place that looks similar in color to the place you are replacing it with.

Like if it is a gradient from light to dark, you cant keep using the bottom dark, you need to use the side where it changes with it, or keep repositioning the copy part to one that looks similar.

it only took a few minutes but ive done it in the past. you really cant go wrong because you can see the affects immediatly and you can see if it looks good. just jump in and get your feet wet. the worse that could happen is you have to start over :)

Yes, it is productive-how is your retort productive? It is a reasonable alternative to CS2 at no cost. Not as powerful, but it works for most photo editing.
