I have afew things listed on craigslist and have it set up on craigslist to anonymize my email address. but that doesnt really help 100%. If I reply back to someone they can see my email. I want to respond back anonymous cause sometimes I cant tell if the buyer is legit or not.

Also is it safter using a cell # for contact info than email ? cause i dont want abunch of spam texts every day.

Then you cannot. Even capabilities like Gmail's send from another address shows the actual email on certain recipients such as my company's Exchange server. Also, anyone looking into the headers can tell who actually sent it.

The only way to do it is to not actually use email but instead use a different service that will email for you. Which I understand defeats your purpose.

Make a throwaway e-mail. There isn't an anonymous way outside of that.

If you send an e-mail anonymously, then it's called spam.

Just create a new, desperate, anonymous, phony, email account. It literally takes 30 seconds and is in no way a hassle.

10 minute email is a throw away after 10 minutes so you cannot get a reply and it radomly makes a new email each time you want to send one.

Unfortunately, I have to bring up something that happened to me with Gmail recently.

I have had 2 or 3 accounts for quite a while now. One was set to forward to another, in general they were in regular use.

I decided to set up a 3rd or 4th account, can't remember which, and immediately - a message from google: "We have detected suspicious activity coming from your account(s). Please enter a phone number to continue."

For this reason I am slowly migrating away from gmail (if not all google services) entirely and will never create a new account or use one of mine for something important ever again.
    They wont help you here.

Mail.com on the other hand is pretty great.

If you post anonymously, coolguy, then you're called a spammer.

(I can sort of see where you're going with this line of reasoning, but wanting to protect your privacy doesn't make you a spammer. Sending spam does.)
