I lost all my file associations with my media player 11 in vista. I cannot figure out or find info on how to restore them easily. When wmp11 is first started in vista, it shows you the configuration window where you can set mp11 to be the default music and video player (as well as other options such as saving played file history etc). Does anyone know how to apply that setting or access this configuration window again short of having to reassociate each file type manually to open in wmp11?

It would be under Set Program Access and Defaults. Try searching for it in Control Panel.

Or you can just right click the files/file format you want > Open with > Choose Program > Find WMP11 and make sure "Make this default" box is ticked

Thanks Budding and v3locqty, the default programs was exactly what I was looking for. I previously have never used this windows feature. Is it a lot easier than having to right click and set each file type, but thank you all for the answers.
