I was planning on doing a reformat of my pc, something i do every few months, and apparently the utility which allowed me to do this is no longer available. Once I restart and hit Ctrl F11 on my Dell i get an error message stating cannot restore, where as typically it would send me directly to the utility.

Now I did mess around with various partitions a few weeks back when installing ubuntu so i'm guessing thats why this has happened.

Anyway, any suggestions as to how I can fix this? I'm guessing obtaining a copy of XP would be the first step, but what to do from there?

Well, if you really want all of Dell's bloatware, I'm sure they'll be happy to give it to you... otherwise, what other than OS and drivers do you need? Just get all your data together on all the drivers you will need.
