I have this concert VCD that I want to turn its songs into mp3 format. However, the vcd is dual channeled and has a karaoke section.

The Left Channel is the pure karaoke part - no singer
The Right Channel is the combined.
If I put Mono, it's as if the Right is playing, but weaker.

I've tried using Free DVD MP3 Ripper, but that doesn't work. It just gives me the instrumental only part no matter if I put Stereo, Joint Stereo, Mono, or Dual Channels. (What's the differences between them?)

Everytime I open the ripped concert in Audacity for editing, it's just the instrumental.

    Help?

    Have you tried Sony Acid?
I don't know if it will work, but there are some very good tools in this program.

I'd prefer if it was free. Or do you mean Sony Acid Xpress?

The Sony Acid Xpress is the free one, I have the Acid Music Studio, and I forgot what the precise differences are. The Acid Music Studio has various audio manipulation capabilities that you may or may not find useful.

Xpress is showing that is compatible for video scoring, so if your VCD loads into the program, you should be able to separate all video and audio tracks, and then mix audio to your taste. (just an educated guess, I don't have a copy of your VCD, or know if this is a feature only available in the paid version of Acid)
After you have separated and mixed the audio tracks, you can convert/save to whatever format you like. You'll have to read/study the users guide in order to make effective use of these programs. Good luck, and I hope I have been of some assistance, albeit the cynical, insolent, and condescending person that I am. :D
