    How to run VLC player with multiple windows...

    I would like to run two video files concurrently using the VLC player. I can only run one at a time now. Is there a setting to change this?

    I dont think you can run multiple instances of VLC.

    preferences > check the advanced options checkbox in lower right > Advanced > turn off Allow only one running instance

    yes you can run VLC in multiple windows.

    vlc is my default player,so when i watch a movie it automatically plays the movies and if you wonna play a diff vid file at the same time then start the program up again from the programs in the start menu

    yes you can play multiple instances of VLC. Just checked it out for you and it's working like a charm.

    Click on Settings->Preferences->Advanced-> Make sure that "One instance when started from File" is not checked.

    does the same apply for Windows Media Player?
