I am running Windows Vista x64 Business Edition. I want to turn on a "click" noise when any key is pressed on the keyboard. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a way to do this natively in Windows or do I need to install a 3rd party app? I did find some apps that does this, but I am not sure which ones are free of malware. Any help would be great. Thanks.

No one has tried to do this? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Home Typist, a 3rd Party Program makes it so that Typewriter Noises are played whenever you press a key, the Space Bar has a realistic sound, too, and it is free.
Sound Pilot enables you to use more "Sound Themes" than just Typewriter, however, it is not free. -

Thanks for the info. I am going to try it out and report back on how it works.

Care to explain why you want this? Seems like it would make me insane in a short time period.

Because I am already insane
No really, I would like to try it out and see if I like it, maybe I will hate it as you say. I have an IBM M series model original clicky keyboard that makes clicking noises everytime you push a key, for my desktop. You keyboard nerds like me will understand. I love the clicking noise that it makes.

Well I installed the program and used it(the free version). The sound is fine but the program doesn't work too accurately. The clicking noises don't fire on all pages/programs. For example the clicking noises don't fire when I type on web pages, which is one of the main places I wanted it to work
. I will probably uninstall it... Does someone know of anything better?

Wow... Just press harder on your keys... they will make a click sound eventually......
Wouldn't you find this getting a bit annoying after a while? I mean you can just get used to not hearing clicking? Turn on some music!
But I can see how it could be cool.... for like.... a bit... -

Yeah, I am old school like that. The clicking some how motivates me to type faster. Its like positive feedback for my typing effort.
How to set click noise when any key is pressed?
