Im on vista 64bit and I have been trying to install a driver for my finger sensor the only problem is that windows beats me to it. I go in to device manager and uninstall the driver windows has for me and reboot. As soon as the desktop loads it installs the driver again before I can do anything. Is there anyway for me to disable this so I can install a driver that actually works? Thanks

Try uninstalling and then rebooting into Safe Mode (press F8 during boot), and then install the driver you want.

Why not use Update driver and install your driver over the current windows driver?

To disable automatic driver installation: Control Panel > System and
Maintenance > System > Tasks (side panel) > Advanced System Settings >
Hardware (tab) > Windows Update Driver Settings -
How to stop Vista from automatically installing driver?
