I keep getting this error randomly in MS Outlook 2010 which I've installed the Outlook Connecter and upon reading online, it seems that the Outlook connecter doesn't like HTTPS

the guides online on how to turn off HTTPS in Hotmail are all outdated.
does anyone know how can I turn off HTTPS to get this Outlook working properly?
Microsoft can't get their together to even make their own products work in harmony

Your email is in that message twice. I'll check it out in a sec, but you should know that.
Disabling HTTPS doesn't seem to be an option, and really, it shouldn't be the option to use. Lets try to fix it for you instead.
Do you run an aftermarket antivirus or firewall, such as AVG, Kaspersky, Norton, etc.? If so, which one? -
the problem I am more concerned about is the failure of my Hotmail accounts I have 2 accounts on @outlook.com
I wanted to try to see the port settings but here is all I got
my outlook accounts are connected using MAPI / Outlook Connecter so when I click on the change account setting/advanced this is all I see
any suggestions? -
Make sure that, if you have the internet security portion of NOD32, that you make Outlook a trusted application. Some people are seeing this issue because of Internet Security packages trying to scan encrypted web traffic.
I've been seeing reports of duplicate mailboxes causing this issue. Make sure single accounts don't have multiple mailboxes of the same name.
Let me get this straight. You have 2 Outlook.com email addresses working, and a single hotmail address not working on the same Outlook client/user? Could you try adding an Outlook Alias to the account and connecting that account instead of the Hotmail? Emails to your Hotmail address would still get to you.
If none of those help, maybe try attaching the account to Mozilla Thunderbird. Usually it'll tell you exactly what the issue is, instead of having to hunt for it. If it works flawlessly, then the issue is with Outlook, and we can narrow that down further. -
Thanks for everyone's replies.
I found out the culprit!
It was my work account that was causing all the issues.
I know for a fact that when I tried to add my work email, it said after a while of searching for the settings that the connection is unencrypted so I chose to continue and that's how it has always been but randomly my work account would fail to synchronize which somehow was affecting my Hotmail/Outlook accounts as well!
Now I got rid of my work account email which I don't really need at home since I can access the emails from the webmail link and the problem with the Outlook Connector is gone
