Hi all, just bought me an asus zenbook ux32ln with win 8.1. Im trying to update the integrated graphics drivers to the latest 15.x version on the intel site instead of the 10.x version that came with the laptop, but when i try from the intel site it says "can't install these drivers on this laptop, use manufacturer's drivers" (paraphrasing). Problem is the asus site only has the drivers that came with my laptop. I tried uninstalling the driver from the device manager & then installing the downloaded intel ones, but it just installed the 10.x version again! Anyone know how to install the latest 15.x version? Thanks in advance for any help!

PS the nvidia drivers for my 840m updated with no problems.

First, make sure you make a system backup/image. Then do a full uninstall of the intel drivers and reboot. The system should use some generic Microsoft driver for the VGA. Then install the new drivers, they should install OK. I had a similar issue with my Sony, but that did it.

i wouldnt bother updating the intel driver. if it works leave it as it is.
even if it did update you wouldnt see hardly any difference. its only dedicated cards that need updating.

Not usually, typically just GPU performance.
