Here's a way to find out what is causing problems if your computer cannot go into sleep mode, or if it is slow going into sleep mode:
This will generate a file that contains errors and problems with your setup that are preventing the computer from properly reaching sleep mode.

    1. Type cmd.exe into the start bar
    2. When it shows up, right click and 'run as administrator'
    3. Once command prompt is open, type "powercfg -ENERGY" (without the quotes)
    4. Let it run
    5. It will generate an HTML file that displays errors in your configuration that affect sleep mode, from here, you can see what peripherals are causing problems, and possibly how to fix it

I was unable to glean any information from this that addresses my sleep issues, but neat nonetheless. Thanks.
