    Howto bypass SP3 install Wizard when my laptop's AC Adapter plug is broken and can only run on battery power?

    I do have a 9 cell battery for about 4-5 hrs. useage, but I don't have a XP restore disc. I' running sp2 now. Thanks for any help

    I think he means how to install sp3 without ac power (the wizard blocks the install on battery power)

    If you're willing to risk it... the only option i see is to slipstream sp3 with a Windows xp install disk, burn a new windows xp sp3 disk and reinstall windows from there, otherwise no way srry

    Find someone with the same AC adapater ;)
    How are you charging your batteries if your AC adapter is broken anyway? Maybe you should get it fixed...

    That's exactly my problem. I have made a differential backup of my c drive with Acronis True Image Workstation 11. Can I restore my Apps. and settings with that backup? I really don't want to start fresh and lost my settings.

    Right now I'm doing just fine with my settings and SP2.

    I have done my backups religionously and regularly, and have never have to do a restore. :eek:)
