Hi all, I have recently installed win XP pro on my pavilion dv2000 laptop, in the process of downloading all the drivers for it, sound, vid, and so on, I downloaded the bios flash 35668 and because it was with all the other drivers for my laptop I thought it was for it as well, now I have loaded it, it did its thing and now my laptop won't boot up, not in safe mode, or to last known good configuration. what have I done, and is there any way of rectifying what it is I have done ? thanks for any help that you all may be able to provide. peace and Blessings.

That's unusual. Have you tired to re-install to original specs by pressing f11 upon booting?

Flashing the BIOS can if does not work leave you with a computer that won't work. You have to replace the BIOS if that is what happened. The bios is not like a driver. It operates under-before the OS so uninstall/intall, restore none of that works because you are not even getting to the OS.

EEPROM chips are advantageous because they can easily be updated by the user; hardware manufacturers frequently issue BIOS updates to upgrade their products, improve compatibility and remove bugs. However, the risk is that an improperly executed or aborted BIOS update can render the computer or device unusable. Wikipedia

Sorry, if this is what happened time to get the pros to help, I think they can just replace a chip. I have flashed once and it worked.
