    Hej,

since some weeks I am a member of Hulu plus and so far I am more or less happy with my choice.
There is only one thing that I really miss a lot and that is to use the service offline.
I know that they are most likely not going to offer that so I am wondering if there is a workaround here.
If possible I would like to watch it on my tablet when travelling....

Anybody got any hint for me here?

    Thanks and Regs

Yes, physical DVD discs or ripping discs. That way with ripped content you can watch it where you are offline.

Your going to have to get the physical media of the movie and then use a paid program to rip the disc or convert to a portable media that you can transfer to your tablet storage then you can view it offline. And since we don't know how much capacity your tablet has that can also be a problem for watching movies on the road if you can't hold enough movie.

    Thanks for your replies!
I have a Samsung galaxy tab 4 with 16 gb internal and 64 gb external (micro sd) memory.
So there should be some space for some movies...
To understand you correctly, I cannot capture the movies direcly from Hulu? I have to buy (or rent) the physical medias and afterwards rip it? Meh not really convenient.. okay but at least it is a way.

Not rent as most rentals do not include personal copies.

They called this copyright protected...just cause you can watch on Hulu doesn't give you permission to copy it. You agreed to their terms of usage when you used Hulu. Well convenient or not this is Hulu Terms of usage you agreed to whether or not you read the terms. And then you need to get yourself the software to convert the physical media to your portable format to begin to have it on the go. If your not willing to do that then nothing more we can do here to help you.

You can try to capture some episodes with a screen capturing software. There are some free ones (e.g.Camstudio). Also I found this program to record specifically hulu. Some comments say that it doesn't work. Plus you will have to convert it manually to a matching output format. Well you can try it out.

For a very good working solution that is also a little more 'convenient' you will have to pay something. Audials Moviebox costs about 20 bugs. I used to use that software for capturing Netflix and Youtube vids but according to their website they also support Hulu.

It is true that you will hurt the TOS of Hulu if you want to save their content. But if you are only going to use it as a private copy (for your tablet on the go) and NOT upload it to any torrent or other file sharing platform it is still legal.

    Hope that helps.

I highly doubt it is legal. You know about those disclaimers about it is illegal to record without the express permission of (said entities). Well by violating the TOS you do not have those permissions. Now YouTube has loads of noncommercial content, you see clips all the time so for private use I am sure that is mostly fine.

To get media to rip, go to your public library, pay for netflix where they mail you the discs, etc.

Well it depends what 'legal' is in your opinion. Yes the terms of Service will be hurt by capturing content of Hulu, so you could argue that you are breaking the arrangement that you agreed on with Hulu.
But you are not being illegal in terms of breaking the law because it is legal to save a copy for your own use.

I read that argumentation in this thread about recording Netflix and I think it makes sense.

Just because you view this as a recording a TV program does not mean it is the same. If you intentionally violate a TOS you are committing fraud against that service, what the repercussion is then is another question! So your claim here would be committing fraud is not technically a crime, sorry to say but it is.
