    hi.

I have the "hungapp" error. Whenever I load a more or less demanding applicatiion I get this error.

I have tried formatting my lappy 3 times without success.

THe only thing left is suicide and formatting a little partition, dells partition, a 3gb partition.

    What can i do?

    thanks

A specific application or is it any program? Random? What are you doing when it happens? BTW, I believe that "Dell partition" may well be the recovery partition? But then you sound like you have backup discs. In any case, that shouldn't be a cause. It can happen I find if you try to kill something unexpectantly, such as closing a game by the 'x' in the corner

    thanks for your replys!

well, the link you posted, i have already seen it, and those programs arent capable of helping me  . Really appreciated that.

anyway, I formatted several times my pc, so the problem couldnt be there. Im thinking that it can be an internal device or BIOS that is causing the problem. Im not an expert, so i cant tell.

the error happens when I load CPU demanding applications, like WMP or Winnap or even Nero Vision Express. It also happens when i load, for example, two "set up" windows at the same time. Both freeze and suddenly a "send to Microsoft" error appears saying that there was an error with Hungapp module.

    Ive tried the following:

    - formatting laptop
    - checking for virus with 100000 programs
    - monitoring applications and processes
    - executing Dell Diagnosis
    - running at safe mode <---NO ERRORS OF ANY KIND, everything perfect
    - kissing the computer :D

    things pending to try:

    - suicide
    - selling the laptop to an inept... (quite a good solution BTW)

I don't know if this has anything to do with it so don't trust me but check the following:

Could be a bad hard drive maybe?
Maybe you have a bad RAM stick?

WMP and Winamp are not CPU intensive programs at all. I would suggest giving Dell a call

    quoted!

"The "Hung Application" message is probably generated because of the way you killed the application -- like the ring around a glass is a sign of drinking soluble aspirin, not a sign of a headache.

Assuming that you're technically competent to do so, I'd recommend using a combination of TCPView, FileMon, RegMon and ProcessExplorer from http://www.sysinternals.com to investigate the state of the application when the hang occurs. With a bit of luck you'll trace it back to specific file or network activity, or find the thread that's either hung up or is chewing CPU.

http://www.sysinternals.com/Blog/ gives an example of using the tools to solve a similar problem."

    cheers ...

    Hey! :)

I think i have solved the problem!!

I loaded Dell Diagnostic tools, and by the end it told me I had lots of corrupt or broken mini-parts/clusters (or whatever it is called :) ) from the HD.

I have thought that is the problem, and I could solve it by buying a new laptop Hard Drive!! Do you think that could be the solution?

Thanks in advance… OH HAPPY DAY! :D
