    I think he wants one for syncing with his iPod.
    In this case try MediaMonkey, Songbird, and Winamp.
    Songbird would be my first choice.

    Zune is not much better, actually it's 20x worse.
    Btw I own both an iPod AND a Zune.

    If you want just a straight music player, try foobar2000. Very light on resources. It's crude, though; you have to skin it for it to be useful.

    I am going to try the Mediamonkey software mentioned in this thread, I wonder what that's like . . .

    songbird is pretty delicious. they basically converted firefox into a media library. genius.

    If you don't want to use itunes with your Ipod, you can try rockbox, it an opensource software for your ipod which converts it to a drag and drop style instead of having to load it to your itunes.
