The laptop in question is the hp pavilion 1338dx
-I've disabled it in the power options
-I've disabled it in the intel drivers under power saving settings, as well as some other things like auto contrast
-I've disabled the light sensor service

I'm gonna pull my hair out, does anyone have a solution to this?

I tried removing all traces of the intel drivers and started fresh. It appeared to work for a minute, but it's back to this auto-brightness ****. As I'm typing this in an office area lighting my screen is dimming itself and I can't stand it.
