Okay so I got bored and decided to mess around with linux again. So I wanted to shrink my windows partition using the built in windows partition feature in Vista because it is fast and easy (I have used it before).

But this time, I seem to be running into a problem. I have ~65 GB free on my partition, but it will only let me shrink about 5 GB. Any idea why? Before it let me shrink as much as I wanted to. Could it be because I already have 3 partitions?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

P.S. I know I could use something like gparted to get this done via livecd, but I have tried that before and 1) it took forever and 2) I tried installing via Mandriva LiveCD but it just froze which is why I want to create a partition from windows before trying to install again.

gparted expanded my partition 150gbs instantly.

Try running a error check first.
