    You can see there's 2.5GB installed, but Windows will only use 2GB!

    GPU shared memory ?

    Tried interchanging the slots ?

    Shared memory will still show up to the OS...since the driver takes it. Plus, that card uses no shared memory.

    Run CPU-Z? Looks like the 512MB DIMM might be having issues playing nice?

    It says 2.5GB, as CPU-Z

    My laptop supports DDR2 400-533-667, but downclocks 667 to 533 anyway. My 512MB stick is 533 and my 2GB is supposed to be 667, however, CPU-Z says 800 (but running as 533....). They both have same latencies as 533.

    My bad..8600M GT has no shared mem.

    Check the Memory Page in CPU-Z and see what that says.

    It says 1x2GB and 1x512MB....

    Windows is detecting 2.5GB. It just only allocates 2GB...
