I installed Windows 7 RC and had nothing but problems with it, the wireless kept dropping, temps ran 10 degrees higher. I just dont have the time to be messing with it. I just dont like it, I will stay with Vista 64 bit, Its fast and very stable. It wasnt my internet connection or my vents.. They got alot more fixes to do before the final release.

Just like with Win XP and Vista.. Nothing is perfect @ release time.. It will all be fixed sooner or later. Thats why its a RC open beta test
-
-
did you install all drivers after the install?

All the drivers are correct and updated. Vista is problem free. I know what I am doing. Its to buggy for me. I wanted to give it a try. I am now back to Vista 64 bit. Others are having issues aswell.
-
I'm having no issues with RC1.
-
I'm having no issues with beta 7000.

This thread *is* a failure because the OP has given up before even trying to fix the problem. This thread has no sense of purpose, nor was it created with any purpose in mind.
-
Yep. And we don't even know what config he's using, therefore nobody can refer him to a solution.
-
Maybe we could find you a solution?
-
can't fix the problem if we don't know what the problem is.

I think too that vista is a bit faster than this latest win 7 release ..
but win 7 showing me better experience index of all hardwae
that's why am keeping it .. -
I've been having disconnect issues since upgrading to Win7 too. Oh wait, so has my boyfriend on XP
Turns out it's our ISP. Just because X follows Y, doesn't necessarily mean that Y caused X.
-
lol
for me rc1 installed with no problems and so far has been much more enjoyable than vista ever was. -
I have up on Windows 7 also, not because I don't like it but because PunkBuster isn't working correctly with it
I love 7 but for now I just had to go back to Vista so that I can play Battlefield 2. Once they get the PB support I will be right back to it.

I gave up on it as i don't like the new taskbar ui. I like most win7 improvements, but can't get used to that crap. winsupersite states more or less my viewpoint. except i can't even really use the wide buttons with labels, as they have a very bad contrast (white text on bright yellow / orange / blue depending on app.. really good..
)
i like it's technical improvements, but don't like some usersatisfying choises like the taskbar "uh shiny, big quicklaunch mess, just how i love it" and uac "lets remove that crap and let the os be attackable again, as we just don't like such a popup".
both: fail
but the thread is no fail as the user stated some reasons he doesn't use it. maybe helps some others think about their situation. -
Never heard of someone having that many problems with Windows 7. Not that it matters, its still in Beta for a reason.
-
Each time I've reinstalled or updated Win 7, I've needed to reboot my WiFi router. You can try that.

why are the buttons not visual deep anymore (they don't "go down" when you click them)
why are the colours in a way that you can't read text.
why did they switch to applications instead of windows, so that, to chose a window, i have to click more than once by default?
why are the preview windows still as small as vista (mine are much bigger)
why aren't the taskbar buttons full screen width? that makes them most easy to click and target (which is my configuration).
why have they pin-to-taskbar instead of forcing people finally to put stuff to start into the STARTMENU by making pin-to-startmenu more obvious. that would make the taskbar much less cluttered.
i could go on and on -

sorry to hear about your problems, i've had nothing but a good experience with windows 7 7100 build . Everything was detected out of the box except the GFX card and the wacom tablet.
but the nvidia win7 drivers honestly work better than the vista ones (for me anyway)
and the wacom vista drivers worked perfectly for the tablet.
Also the printer which i had to install the driver for in vista, was plug and play in windows 7. -
I detailed my problems in the Technet forum linked above. Here is what I wrote there ...
-
I think Windows 7 is awesome, I like the new task bar.
-
i also had nothing but issues with build 7100 64 bit. i reverted back to vista 64 till i can figure out why
-
no issues here with build 7100 64bit. Everything runs, and seems to run smoother than with vista64 sp2.
-
I'm sticking with 7077, because I'm hearing of too many people's problems with 7100.
-
-
I had a similar feeling about vista x64 when it first came out. What a steaming pile of poop but it almost works now. xp is finally stable. I only wish windows 7 had managed to add native blu-ray licencing. If it had I'd be rushing to upgrade but I haven't found the compelling reason to pull the trigger yet.
-
I thought W7 would be better then vista. But for some reason it uses a lot of resources on idle, cpu much hotter. Although not many ppl have this problem...
-
-
haven't had any probs with Win 7 RC

I wonder how you can consider a product broken or failed before it is even released lol.
This is not something you paid for, its a open beta where people are supposed to sign up to trial the program to help find the bugs and give feedback to make the final product better. -

well, I consider it broken as it doesn't fullfill it's purpose: having a new ui that enhances usability. just like office 2007 did (and the reason why they chose the main developers of office 2007 to do win7).
for the rest, it's a very well product. but so is vista, without that ui bugs.
I gave up on Windows 7
