I have been sticking to FireFox for a long time, in the hope that one day, with all these recent updates, the speed and snapiness will be up to par to Chrome as I love the Firefox interface but even with the latest FireFox 7 Beta 2, it is as crappy as FireFox 6, and very slow in opening new tabs and browsing all together.

I have tried Google Chrome 3 days back and was blown away by its speed in browsing and opening tabs as I do that a lot.

Furthermore, I like the extensions that allow you to disable the new crappy Facebook Chat bar and revert back to the old style

Google Chrome has advanced so much and the best thing, is once there is an update, Google Chrome installs it silently and you won't even feel other than closing the browser once and reopening it!

    :)

i was , it was very difficult believe me, I still prefer the interface of FireFox but what to do?? It is so slow in tab handling and browsing compared to Chrome :(\

I hope FF 7 would fix that but same crap

I don't see why people stick to browsers based on... loyalty of all things.

If you like Firefox better use Firefox. If you like Chrome better use Chrome.

I like Chrome better - it's faster, much more secure, and it has features that are useful to me.

This... browser choice evokes, for some reason, just as strong reactions as PC v. Mac. Perhaps that's because inherently, there is no "wrong" choice: all modern browsers are quite close and competent. Between IE9, Opera, Chrome/Chromium, and Firefox, you can't really go wrong. There are some areas where one is better than the other, and it's all about finding out what matters to you and using the browser that works the best for you. For me, Opera and IE9 work perfectly, and so I use those two browsers.

I just got a new SSD equipped laptop with 6GB of RAM, and I have no complaints with the speed of Firefox.

It does not waste any screen real estate. The AdBlock Plus add on is extremely useful to me.

From all I've heard, Chrome would work just as well for me, and be perhaps a few fractions of a second faster. But, since I'm happy with the Fox, I won't switch anytime soon.

I always have both FF and IE9 handy, but I do most of my browsing with the latter because of speed. But when I need some functionalities that aren't available in IE9, I go back to FF for that.

Simple as that! None of the loyalty nonsense.

I keep trying Chrome, but the way it loads pages is weird. For example, while fast it pops things in to place in chunks. Whereas Firefox may be a few milliseconds slower but the page will load in one go.

Firefox guy here. I gave Chrome a try and just didn't like it. Didn't notice any realistic speed increase either. Just noticed that it renders differ.

I use Chrome at work and Firefox or Opera at home. All have different characteristics and user based preferences...Stop being stupid fanboys...These companies don't pay you for your loyalty, do they??? Just use whatever pleases you....
