    Hey guys,

I hid/removed the recycling bin icon from the desktop and can't figure out how to get it back now. LOL. I've tried some of the solutions I've found on Google but they haven't worked so far... can someone explain to me how to restore the icon? Thanks :)

LOL, I must've really screwed something up.

royk - thanks, but I have XP and apparently that only works for Vista. Thank you for the help though :)

steve - i couldn't find the recycle bin in explorer to do this! lol.

angad - I must've really screwed something up because I downloaded Tweak UI but when I go to the Desktop section the RB is not in the list of icons to restore. Blah.

    Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks! None of those worked for me though... lol. I don't know what I did... I was able to create a short cut to the recycling bin, so that's better than nothing for now! Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

You tried the registry key thing as well..??
Otherwise just run a Repair install or a Registry scan using any software (preferably Uniblue Registry Booster) :)

Yay, I got it back! lol! I'd tried the registry thing and restarted my computer and it hadn't shown back up... but I just opened TweakUI again and the option had appeared. It must've been one of the things you suggested I do. LOL. THANK YOU! :)

I seem to recall that you can right click on the desktop to open the "display properties" select the "desktop" tab and then "customize desktop" and select "restore defaults".
Let us know if it worked.
