So I just randomly got the idea to place the tab bar in firefox on the side. I found a way to do it by editing the userchrome.css file. Well, apparently I did something wrong, because firefox is now completely screwed up. My bookmarks are gone and I can't import them again (nothing is imported when I try, and the bookmarks.html and bookmarks.bak are way outdated anyway). The address bar won't update (right now it just says http://www.notebookreview.com/). My history isn't updating. And pages won't finish loading. My passwords are still saved though (I didn't have to log in here).
Anyone ever seen this? Is there anything I can do? I already tried a reinstall but without deleting the personal files or whatever. Any ideas? This will be really awful if I can't get this fixed.

You can rescue all of your user files in FF by copying them out of the common directory where other apps also store settings.

With that done, you can then delete the folder and reinstall FF. -

Whew, it worked, thanks guys. I was pretty worried when the bookmark backups weren't working, but its all good now, except I lost my RSS feeds
. I guess I'll try to be a little more careful when editing files from now on.
Thanks.
I just destroyed firefox...
