I must say that Windows' many different DVD functions is a jungle! And "Help and Support" doesn't very clearly describe their differences and when to use which. It's all very confusing.
What is the difference between burning movie files onto a DVD-R disc in Windows DVD Maker and in Windows Media Player? Is Windows DVD Maker better for MPG files and Windows Media Player better for WMV files? Or when do I choose which player?
I have had some success in using Windows DVD Maker.
But have not figured out how to burn DVDs in Windows Media Player yet. It doesn't seem able to add in edited movies from Windows Movie Maker.

ok, here we gooooo!
Windows Media Player is for playing content. output = visual/audio no files created
Windows Movie maker is for editing and rendering video's output = WMV format(Files on your hard disk)
Windows DVD maker is for Burning your Video files to disks output = DVD disk
the 3 have there 3 separate purposes.
movie maker is NOT designed to be for video play back, the window it has is just for a preview on your work.

I bow to thee! Thank you kindly!
Although in "Help and Support" there is text about "Burn a DVD in Windows Media Player". -
I hope it is as clear as you describe, but it doesn't quite seem like it. -
Is burning MPG file better than burning WMV file, for playing the DVD-disc on a regular freestanding DVD-player?
WMV is suited for computors. And MPG is for TV. Is this right? -
The burning procedure of my disc has been stuck on 51% encoding for several hours now. Is that normal, or should I press cancel?
I need help with burning DVD in DVD Maker and WMP.
