My laptop was working perfectly fine one day and then the next day it wasn't the case.

I began whilst I switched on the computer and on the Philips X54 loading screen there were light blue lines. Then it will only allow me on the computer in safe mode. Then things got worse. The next time I turned my laptop on it had decided to split the screen into quarters. Now I have four mini screens that all show exactly the same thing.

Is this a Philips problem or can anyone suggest if I need anything new in the video/graphics card area or if the hard drive is about to blow up?

    Thanks

I doubt if it is the hard disk itself. It might be the graphics driver has got corrupted or do you get the 4 little screens even in safe mode?

There are a few other threads about the Philips X54 and other "Philips" notebooks (nothing to do with the electronics company). Here's one. Use the forum search tool (right end of the header) to find the others.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don't think it is specific to the Philips range. I recon it is a general laptop fault. Yes the screen even gets split into quarters when it is running in safe mode. I have no idea what is wrong though.
