I'm jealous

Freebie =3
Nice -
Viruses are free, too
Anyone want some of those?
-
Unfortunately so is skepticism
-
Pita, I think PT Barnum said it best
. It sure applies still today.
I am glad so many suckers got all the freebies first, prevents me from making a stupid mistake (Darn I already did, been testing ULTIMATE since June
!)
Will try again in a few months if/when stable drivers are avail
. Bill G does not pay me to do the work his staff should
, but doesn't.
Why settle for a recorded 10-15% performance drop for some eye candy. Cyber sex orgasms are so unfulfilling! -
I wanted in on this, but I'm in Canada. Oh well.
-
Why not? The world doesn't revolve around frames-per-second, and believe it or not, operating systems aren't produced just for the sake of hardcore gamers.
-
lol, I run linux, and only linux on my main rig. Who can really complain about free software though?
-
I so feel like I want a quad boot system, lololol.
And that powertogether thing - I kept on procrastinating. Good for you though =3 -
Unfortunately? You'd prefer if people were never skeptical? If we all just believed what we were told, right from the beginning, and no matter how far out it was?
That is a scary thought...
But it does revolve around eye candy? Operating systems are produced just to look pretty?
Personally, I'd rather have a fast OS that doesn't get in my way, than a slow one that looks nice (the goal of an OS is basically to *not* be seen. It's there so you can run your programs, and nothing else.) -
I already run RTM but a Legit one would have been nice.
-
Well, always nice to have a free license to an expensive program. No one says you have to use it, but certainly no harm in having the option to do so.
-
Some anti-virus programs are free, too
Anyone need some of those?
Cynicism is definitely free nowadays.
-
The free upgrade, do you get both versions or only 32bit if your version of p is 32bit?anyway to get a 64bit version exept buying it full price?
-
If you're referring to the Express Upgrade licenses they are 32-bit only upgrades unless your original system came preloaded with XP x64. At this point, I haven't heard of any 64-bit crossgrade plans (for free or a reduced cost) but that doesn't mean they won't happen.
andars05 -- Congrats! Welcome to the party. How long did it take you to go through the required material? Also, did you get 32-bit or both 32-bit and 64-bit? -
But AV programs tell you that they're going to fix things on your system. Vista has made it abundantly clear that they have no respect for the user, and will kowtow to the media companies, and everyone suffers as a result. I refuse to have someone else tell me what I can run on my system via DRM. The R stands for Restrictions, kids, as in those placed on the consumer to encourage multiple purchases of the same media. DRM has nothing to do with piracy.

The only think I don't see is why you need to whine about Vista in every existent thread considering that the original poster just posted a few pictures...so you may just say: thanks nice pictures but I'm fan of the penguins...
And, we already have another forum member who starts Vista threads frequently and the last of them is developing nicely just right now..., so if you have time to kill that might be a better place for you... unless the yellow duck has gone into hysterics again...
Either way, you could spend your time better...by installing Vista for example...
Oh, thanks for the link, I may read it later if I don't forget
And this is a nice site, I don't remember who provided this link though
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/acne.htm
Btw, it's an interesting fact that all threads about Vista end nicely.

I'm looking into dual booting with Vista, I can get it free any time through MSDNAA. Nah, I'm not skeptical at all---I remember back in the day when XP was coming out, the critics were coming out in droves and calling it a mockery of Win2000 and somesuch. As long as Vista isn't the reincarnation of ME, we'll be just fine.
So, anyways does anybody have any dual boot experiences with Vista? Not the RC's mind you, the released product I mean. Thanks guys. -
I only received the 32 bit version of Business. Its been a while, but each online webcast ranged from 30 minutes to one hour.
-
Yes, I have all my systems dual-booting Vista (final) at the moment -- some with a standard XP flavor and some with XP x64. They all work flawlessly, and I haven't had any trouble. You'll need a partition tool to shrink the XP partition as Vista should get its own partition for the sake of both installations. Also, plan on your Vista installation taking up quite a bit more space than XP -- 25-30 GB is a good minimum partition size for Vista. Once you have the space set aside, just boot to the Vista DVD and install. You'll be asked which partition you want to install to -- make sure you choose your newly created partition, and Vista will take care of the rest. Vista will automatically install its boot manager and you'll be presented with a simple menu every time you turn on the computer to select the OS you want to use.
Hope that helps. -
Yeah I was looking into a free partitioning tool for that purpose, I suspected that Vista and XP would go into mortal combat if placed onto the same partition. Any suggestions there?
Also, 25-30GB free space?! How much does Vista take up by default? I plan on leaving some room for updates, utils, and addons in the future, but 30% of my HDD (93.3GB) sounds outrageous for an OS.
I recieved my free vista today.
