I currently have I8kfangui installed. I assume I9kfangui is an update, so I went to install it (after shutting down I8kfangui) and it told me I needed fanio 1.5 installed and have 2.2 already installed (something along those lines). Never encountered this before, any ideas?

I9k is not an update. It is a separate program and does not work as of yet under the Core Duo processor. Stick with I8kfanGUI as your fan program...
