    Dear All,

I was just going through the reliability history (Win 7 Ult), and I saw this critical error - IDT PC Audio stopped working - show up.

(Tried google but unfortunately we are having some problems with the internet connection here to some sites - so I cannot read through the info.)

This problem started when I was trying out a new sigmatel audio driver... (the driver signed and all that - saw it on drivermax and just wanted to try it)..

Following the driver installation, I found that the sigmatel section in control panel was gone - so, I went back to the previous driver (the one I had originally ever since I got this laptop)...

But then I started seeing this error. Also, in msconfig startup list, following this new driver installation and going back to the previous, I found that there was a new entry "IDT PC Audio"...

Does anyone know about this problem and a way to resolve this?

PS., at the moment, I am trying to disable this from startup and see if the error occurs. I don't know if this was from the new driver installation and when I went back to the previous one, some parts were left behind which are showing an error because the new driver is not there anymore!!!

I'll get back after a restart...

Many thanks in advance and cheers.

    Update

I disabled sttray.exe from the startup list (through msconfig), and after a restart, I didn't see this error...

Don't know if it resolved whatever problem it was, but anyway..

    Cheers
