Lately I keep getting freezes and crashes when I open more then 6 or 8 tabs. What could the cause of this be? I did a reset on IE advanced options but it's still happening.

I suggest using a real browser like Pale Moon.
On the other hand, check what add-ons you have installed in IE -

Since we have no idea what IE version you have or what plugins as well as what O/S you have installed how would you expect anyone to know what is happening?? And also we don't know what laptop is this happening on?Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

So we're trying to help you and ask you what add-ons do you have an IE but again you ignore the question. Good luck manPapusan likes this. -
Mine is fine with 25-30 tabs open. It can be add-on or ram issue.

I have Advanced System Care 8.2 installed. It has cleaned junk on my system but also did a lot of things I don't know about to speeds things up. I think it has something to do with it.

People still use IE?
Seriously though, disable all add-ons and see if that works. If not you may need to reset IE to defaults to fix it.
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset
I worked at a help desk for a company that provides the online university software for many well known online and traditional universities and we had to reset IE all day to fix the things people and their add-ons did to it... If that didn't fix it, we moved them to Firefox.alexhawker likes this. -
I did a whole new clean install of W7 and I still get this problem. When more then 6 tabs IE just freezes but it's pretty random. I have no problems playing the latest games but I can't have a bunch of tabs opened!
What can I do to fix this? Could there be a hardware problem? Or maybe it is a ram issue?Last edited: Aug 1, 2015
