    hello everyone,

i recently came to know why IE always crashed, its just because of the Addons loaded by IE.

Disable all the addons except SUN JAVA CONSOLE, n restart IE, it will work fine. :)

go to Tools/Manage Addons/ there in disable all the Addons, except sun java console. then restart IE, it will work fine. and wont crash anymore.

    hope it helps :)

Anyone that uses IE won't know how to update IE (since they won't know fully well how to operate computers), therefore, this thread is redundant.

I beg your pardon, I both run IE and, for the most part, know how to operate a computer (not, of course, without making the occasional mistake, but then, we're all human - so far as I can tell :D).

What's redundant? My IE rarely crashes and most of the add-ons I have are linked to other programs I've installed. IE recovers from crashes well and it's a minor annoyance when it does. IE users don't know much about computers? huh?

This is correct. The only time a computer user must use IE is to download firefox, after that it can remain on the system to look pretty or be deleted, preferably the latter. However, this is not neccessary to individuals who do not know the basic processes of a computer and are allowed to use the program accordingly to their own detriment. Thus, such an individual would not know about optimizing their system, far less update software and therefore makes the thread redundant.

I have been experiencing crashes with NBR web page more frequently. Also the new flash player 10 crashes IE 7 more often.

Firefox isn't the best browser either.
Firefox is a good browser, but so is Opera 9.62.

And by the way, if you have Protector Suite 5.6.2 IE7 is very handy for storing passwords under fingerprints.
Then: Flickr upload doesn't work properly for me in Firefox...
Under Flash player 9 I think (one of the previous versions, not the newest) Firefox always crashed for me on the BBC iplayer.

i.e. Firefox may be a good browser - it isn't perfect, and neither is IE7. If you have had an overal positive experience with IE7 there is little need to change.
