HI, I am asking a question about my mothers computer. Recently when I try to open internet explorer, I get a message saying internet explorer can't open, Windows will update when a fix has been found or something like that. I installed firefox on her computer for now, but i want to get IE7 working. I can't reinstall Internet Explorer because Microsoft is stupid and doesn't have an internet explorer download for vista on their website. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? thanks

I thought when you download IE7 it will detect which OS you're using so you can d/l the appropriate one. Also make sure you uninstall the previous version.

You can't completely uninstall Internet Explorer. This component is integrated into the OS. The best solution would be to try re-installing, or try a system restore.

I had a problem with the same occurance. I found that it was a software installation that I had performed that cused IE7 to stop working. Once I un-installed that software everything went back to normal. As a matter of fact, the software was designed somehow integrated with IE and this is what cused the issue.

Check for any new software you installed that, specifically if it revolves around IE 7.

Good post iRover (sorry, couldn't help myself), but which program integrated into IE7 caused your problem? This is the first time I've heard of this sort of issue.

    Try getting IE6 instead.

Roxio EMC 9 with Vista and IE7 doesn't play well together. Roxio somehow disables IE7 when opened. That's why I went back to XP.
