Whenever I'm using IE 9 and Google as my homepage of choice, there appears a box on the right soliciting me to install Google Chrome because it's 'A faster way to browse the web. Install Google Chrome'. Well, I do have Chrome installed however I do not like being solicited on my homepage, especially when I do use Chrome. Sure I can click the box every time and remove. Removing the ad then resetting the homepage to current page does nothing. I override auto cookie handling and allow session cookies if this means anything to anyone. Doesn't come up in Chrome or FF. Why is Goggle's homepage different on IE? I've switch to Bing at the moment- at least it's advert free. If someone knows a solutions please advise.

Same thing happens to me if I go to non US google pages like google.de, google.co.uk, google.com.tr .....

google.com does not do this for me.

I am just ignoring since I never use Google anymore anyway. Just set google as the default search engine and type what you are looking for directly in the universal status bar.

You think that's bad? I keep seeing "upgrade to IE9!" boxes on my homepage (Yahoo).

    ...even while I'm using IE9

And the irony is that it makes me use a competitors search engine.

Doesn't Chrome come with Bing as a selectable search provider, too?
