Well i installed IE7 when it was released to the public. Used it a couple times and then just went back to FF. So i try IE today (started yesterday) and i get this "Specified Procedure Could Not be Found" message. Did a google search, nothing.
So IE is totally unusable since if i click anything, that message comes up. Its basically dead.

It comes up in IE6 as well, i have no clue where IE7 went. I cant uninstall IE6 or anything and can't install it again since its on my computer.

I have litterally no clue what to do. Looks like a reformat is in the works but i really dont want to do that at all.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

    Nick

for the edification of my NBR bretheren...

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview and return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP
Click “Start,” and then click “Control Panel.”
    Click “Add or Remove Programs.”
Check “Show Updates” at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list to “Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2Preview,” and then click "Change/Remove."
If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist, run %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe. You need to have "view hidden folders" enabled.

Drumfu - Can't, IE won't let me do anything. Can't uninstall it, can't reinstall it.

System restore might be worth trying.

I searched on the web, and people have had problems also, majority of the people are saying that there spyware program are interfering somehow. Try turning any spyware off and see what happens.

I dont know about laptops, but on a desktop when you do a restore you get a choice of destructive or to maintain data. If you maintain data it just rewrite the system files and such and will not downgrade you. I would suggest backing up you importand data and the do a destructive install (format drive). I like to use a floppy disk to manualy format a drive myself then install windows. Maybe get a boot cd and format C: youself then reinstall.

Nick you could manually go in and delete the files associated with it including registry entries, which is a huge pain that is almost equal to a reformat.

You could do it though and save yourself a format. After that you can just add IE6 from the windows cd, I think?

    Cheers,
    Mike
