We all know how to delete history, but is there someway to save it as im about to format my laptop.

    Thankyou!

Edit - Also is there anything i should backup apart from the obvious documents. Like nothing in Windows or Program Files would be of importance?

The history files(and implicitly names) should be in the documents and settings, user name, local settings folder.
