for some reason, when i go to websites, internet explorer doesnt want to download/show the pictures. i just get one of those boxes with text inside of it. any ideas on how to fix this? (also, these websites look fine in firefox)
*please dont tell me to just use firefox, because there are some places where i have to use IE

I have the exact opposite problem. Firefox 1.5 doesn't render pictures on some pages (just leaves a small *empty* box). IE 7 usually can show the ones that FF doesn't. It specifically shows up at Wincustomize.com. It's really annoying trying to look at thumbnails that aren't there.

What version of IE are you using? Are you using any firewall software (ZoneAlarm, etc)? Have you looked at IE's settings and checked the security level? Perhaps you are filtering out images.

that happens to me sometimes in IE so now i use firefox
maybe its an old version of IE iunno I couldn't figure it out

You guys tried Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Multimedia>Show Pictures???

Well, for me it was Zone Alarm's Privacy setting. Unfortunately there is no way to distinguish these certain pictures from "private headers". Problem solved on my end. I didn't think it'd be too tough
