    Hi,

I have to use internet explorer to check my Exchange email from home. (web exchange or whatever its called). However I use firefox for everything else.

I was wondering if there are any very lightweight IE-based browser that I could install and use because the regular IE is just too slow for me to load up. I tried the new beta as well. I just want something that is IE based and will load up fast.

    any options?

    Thanks in advance

I somehow doubt you find anything like that - simply because IE is proprietary Microsoft software.

    On another note.
Clean out your computer using CClenaer and defragment is (unless you do that regularly).

IE isn't that slow - yes, admittedly, Firefox is faster every now and then, but else...

Try Maxthon or FF3 with IE Tab.

Have a look at Opera. You can have Opera identify itself as IE for specific web sites so they send the content as if IE was requesting it. Some sites behave differently by turning off dynamic stuff if the browser isn't IE (that one Outlook web exchange site being one of them).

IE opens instantly for me. Maybe you have spyware/malware issues?

On second thought, using Opera to open Outlook Web Access and having it identify itself as IE makes things rather ugly. It's fast anyway though.

I'm using Opera - while 8.something had some very annoying bugs, 9.63 is overall very smooth and fast.

(Used Firefox a lot before, and also IE7 for some time - still do for some things)

Right-click anywhere on the web page and choose Site Settings. Then click the Network tab and in the drop-down choose 'Identify as Internet Explorer'.

A few web sites are still geared to IE and will not work correctly with other browsers. Maxthon as someone suggested would be your best choice since it does look and act like IE

Yep, Maxthon is probably the closest to IE, even MS supports them. manchesterunited222, you should give Maxthon a try, I know some people who use this and I tried it on their machines, it's quite fast.
