My machine is the MSI 16F3, specs in signature. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium X64.
Anyway, I've noticed recently (past 2 weeks or so) that sometimes Internet Explorer 11 will essentially freeze on me. Tabs that already have loaded pages respond just fine, but if I attempt to open a new tab or load a new page, it refuses to load.
If I close out IE regularly and reopen my browser, the problem persists. I notice that when I open Task Manager I'll see iexplore.exe and a few iexplore.exe *32 in my Process tab even if IE is closed out. If I End Process them, and then reopen IE, it functions perfectly fine again.
I notice that this slow loading normally happens after I've been watching flash-based video for a while (i.e. youtube or Twitch).
Anyone run into this issue as well, and have a fix?
And, sure, I expect "don't use IE, duh," but I really would like to figure out what's wrong.

Same OS and IE 11 here. Also after similar usage pattern; if I close IE I do not see any processes as you do. The only currently running add on I am running is shockwave 12.0.0.77. Does this issue happen if you start IE with no add ons ?
(how to if needed: http://www.webtlk.com/2010/11/18/how-to-start-internet-explorer-9-in-safe-mode/ ) -

The only add-on I have is Shockwave 13.0.0.182. I'll try safemode, but I notice I don't run into problems unless I start watching videos in IE.

Forge, If you have already removed then reinstalled the flash plug in, I would try to remove it and install 12.0.0.77 that I have. I tried to D/L 12.... but it seems every link leads to the latest version (13....). I will ask over at andtech forum to see if I can get a link for it.

I use IE11 and FF28 with shockwave 13 and flash 13 and adobe air 13 and don't notice the slow downs as mentioned. Are we sure there aren't other toolbars opened causing the slowdown? And what A/V programs are they using? And are there other task they have stealth loaded that they can't see that is causing the slow down? My perception for slow down is toolbars and stealth programs causing the slow down. IF the OP can give us a link to the site they said are causing their slow downs other with up to date version can give that a test and see if they get the slow down to be see what might be the cause????

Any site will be slow loading. Could by NBR, could be Google, Yahoo, etc. The common link is that I'll have a flash-using page (youtube, Twitch) open for a little while before other sites start to slow down.
My startup processes are pretty minimalist. I have no addons in IE save shockwave.
My antivirus is MSSE. -
Do you have any toolbar installed? if so uninstall them.
Try run IE without adds on and see if you experience the same as before, you can find it under All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)
If it gives a better performance then it could be due to some adds on, click Tools -> Internet Options, click the Programs tab, then Manage add-ons, disable one by one and see if it helps the performance. If it does try to use it without those extensions.
Hope it helps -

I disabled Shockwave and browsed around for about an hour. No problems at all.
The problem is most likely the shockwave add on. Now I just have to figure out how to fix that. -
I would try a full removal Uninstall Flash Player | Windows and reinstallation. I could not find an installer file for 12.0.0.77 so in your case I would install the latest version. (I have 2 machines running Win 7 one is on 12.0.0.77 and the other is the latest, both work fine.

Tried the uninstaller and then reinstalled Shockwave. I'm getting the same problems. Wish I knew what exactly was causing this.

The only other suggestion I have is to remove Adobe flash player (shockwave) entirely. Ie11 has support for Flash builtin. I just found this out when I was reading an article on IE 11... ALSO this may be relevant ; What you can do against Internet Explorer's latest 0-day vulnerability (April 2014) | gHacks Technology News the reference is at the end of the article.

Don't know if these means much, but sometimes IE also crashes and I get this in Event Viewer:

In case anyone was still wondering, or anyone has any more info, I still have the same problem.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE, and uninstalling and reinstalling shockwave. No dice. -
Your problem is most likely GPU drivers related, Exception code: 0xc0000005
Try to remove your graphics drivers and I mean complete removal including uninstalling, deleting any remnant folders and registry keys and once Windows install the Standard VGA adapter then install the most stable drivers you think that suit better your needs.
I have Nvidia GPU, I'm on 337.88 but 314.22 or 331.82 were also very stable.
As a workaround, but only a workaround, try also in IE's settings to check " Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering".
See if it helps.
Post back if you have any questions.
P.S. If you don't use Adobe Shockwave Player it's different from Adobe Flash Player, you should absolutely uninstall it.
The author, see link below, has long advised computer users who have Adobe‘s Shockwave Player installed to junk the product, mainly on the basis that few sites actually require the browser plugin, and because it’s yet another plugin that requires constant updating. This software introduces a far more pernicious problem: Turns out, it bundles a component of Adobe Flash that is more than 15 months behind on security updates, and which can be used to backdoor virtually any computer running it.
