    Hello all

I am sitting with a pain in the butt here. Hopefully someone can help

Here is the situation: I run XP and my Windoze is up to date with Security patches etc. Lately, I have noticed that something?? (one of the patches?) is automatically clearing my browser cache everytime I exit IE. Happens on both IE 7 and IE 8. I have checked IE settings and everything is the same as before this pain started.

This is freaking me out and costing me money to be on the Net. I pay per MB for my connection and only visit safe sites for work and NBR from time to time.

So, for example, NBR site would load under 200KB. Now it can take anything up to 1 MB.

Anybody have a clue? Rep for the person that gives the right advise.

    Thanks :)

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced

Under Security, uncheck Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed

    :)

Thanks Stewie. Did it when the problem started initially. Still the same.

Microsoft?? did something here. Cannot put my finger on it :( .I am pretty sure it was one of the patches...but which one???

It really pees me off when my computer does stuff without my permission....

    Cheers Mate

I will keep looking and Googling.

    Well, I'm not chaz, but...

Set your Temp Internet Cache to 20mb. Click OK. Reset to 300mb. I'm wondering...corrupt index.dat?
