I am using Vista Home Premium and IE7. When I click on a stream link that is an .ASX format I get a box that asks if I want to save the file and that the file I am trying to open cannot be opened by the default program.

I have associated .asx with WMP11 many times but nothing works!!

It streams fine in IE7 on XP and used to work on Vista IE7.

    Any thoughts?

I think you messed up the file associations by cleaning up the registry. Try system restore to a point, where it worked.

I ran CCleaner once and backed up the registry. How to I restore the registry it created?

    Fixed it...

the .asx file needs to be associated with WMP 2, not WMP.
