    Hi to all.

    Few weeks ago I installed IE8 final when It was available. Due to a problem with Spybot Search and destroy, It became too slow at opening the program and new tabs. I reset IE8 to the factory settings, but lost the google search engine from the search box. I add it again, but every time I search something and hit Enter, It goes to the english google search results page. I'm from Colombia and want to set the search results in the Spanish Google site.

    I already set the google preferences to show the results in spanish, but It keeps changing to English every time I perform a search from the IE8 search box.

    Any suggestion?

    PD: Please do not suggest to use Firefox instead, I know it's a great browser, but I want to find a solution for this problem.

    Thanks in advance... :)

    Thanks for your suggestions. I uninstalled the google search engine and installed the new one from the IE8 addon site (with spanish selected), but It keeps redirecting to the english google site.

    Found the solution to my problem:

    In Windows Registry, navigate to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes

    Find the GUID that represents the google search provider, and In the URL value, I changed the line about the language, from

    http://www.google.com/search?hl= en&q={searchTerms}

    to

    http://www.google.com/search?hl= es&q={searchTerms}

    That way Now I'm able to search items and go to the google search results in spanish.

    Hope this help other people with the same problem ;)

    Thanks to all for your help anyway...

    You don't have to remove Spybot completely. The issue I had with IE8being so sloooow was about a problem with the SpyBot Search and Destroy "innoculate" feature which puts 10000 domains in the restricted
    sites list.
    While Spybot updates it's engine to work with IE8 correctly, I recommend you to undo the immunize feature to make the restricted sites at 0. Spybot will continue to protect you in IE while you're browsing.

    Of course, I know that. I removed the "Restricted sites" first, and then removed Spybot S&D's . I have a-squared, SUPERAntispyware and MBAM anyways (along with NOD32-x64, Windows Defender and COMODO Firewall)! :D
