When I plug directly into my Cable modem via USB(Scientific Atlanta 2203) I get this blue screen constantly. I have the latest drivers. I'm running an Acer 6920G with Vista SP1 on it.

Have you talked to your cable company about this? If they provided you the modem, they are responsible for all of the drivers.

Have you updated all of your drivers and whatnot through the Acer support website? There are quite a few downloads listed for your model. You should update everything you can. More specifically, the update you may need might be the chipset driver.

Also, have you gone to your ISP's support website to look for updated firmware, or even to the Scientific Atlanta website to see if there is a firmware update?
