I've done lots of searching and asked in a few other forums and not got much help.
I run Vista and I have the Windows Classic theme, I also have wallpaper too.
The Icon text is normally black and has a transparent background, now if I have a background with lots of black, then the text disappears which makes it a lot harder to read the text labels (I dump folders to the desktop as it makes copying files across a bit easier, so reading these text labels is helpful). I want to add a white coloured background to it, now Windows XP I didn't seem to have this problem but in Vista I can't seem to change it.
Most people have said click Use Drop Shadows for icons labels on the desktop in Visual Effects in Performance Options in the Advanced Options in System.(phew). Sadly all this does is turn the text white, blur it and make it impossible to read.
Any suggestions?
