This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     If I change something in MSConfig, will the settings affect all users, too? Suppose I remove qttask from startup, will the other Limited user accounts feel the effects, too?

    AFAIK, it only goes to that particular user since MSConfig only edits that particular user's registry.

    If you wanted to do it for all users, you could probably do a regedit on some of the software (pretty dangerous though).

    If you know what you're doing, editing the registry isn't a horrible thing to do -- just always, always make a backup first. If you're not very certain of what can safely be removed from the registry, you're better off editing each individual account with msconfig.
