    If install Windows 7 from a copied disc can I use my valid product key on the bottom of my laptop?

    Both the disc and product key are for Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I'm having to reformat and don't want install all of the crapware that comes with the regular Toshiba recovery disc.

    I don't want to attempt it until I'm certain my copy of Windows will remain genuine.

    So will it work?

    What kuro said, i've been using a windows iso on a thumb drive for quite a while now for all my reinstalls instead of a restore disc.

    One other thing, if you use a retail installation disc on a OEM version, you might have to activate your windows over the phone, but it is an easy process. Or you could use ABR Beta.
